So how exactly are you supposed to use this base-building mechanic to gain access to DiMA’s memories? Well, the main objective is to get the Indexer bugs to travel all of the way to the yellow data stream for each puzzle. In order to do so, you’ll need to place blocks to fill in gaps in their path. That’s not all though, as you’ll have to break down “Firewalls” by making sure that the green beams of light that are emitted from these blocks hit the Key Block in each Firewall.The fun doesn’t stop there. After all, it wouldn’t be Fallout if there wasn’t something to ruin your plans as you were completing said task. As soon as your Indexer bugs have started collecting data, a security system will start up, and will begin to try and destroy the indexers as they travel across the path.

That’s where your turrets come in. In each puzzle, you have five of these to strategically place along the route in order to ensure the Indexers remain safe on their journey.If an Indexer is destroyed, a new one will simply begin the same journey, although you’ll need five of the little units to make their way to the end in order to pass the puzzle.

So now that we know the basics, let’s begin working our way through each puzzle. For the first puzzle, you’ll want to start off by moving the four lighter colored Code Blocks in your starting area to form a bridge for your Indexers to get to the next area. Once you’ve done this, your next problem will be the Firewall in front of you.

To bypass it, remove the Code Block which you can see is preventing the green beam of light from hitting the point on the firewall. You can then use the nearby supply of Code Blocks to build a bridge for your little Indexers to get across.As soon as your Indexers hit the yellow beam of light, the enemies will come out to cause havoc. Place a couple of the little turrets on the perimeter wall either side of the beam. Make your way back down the path that you came along and place one where the Code Block that blocked the green beam from hitting the Firewall Key Block was.

Place another one nearby for good measure. Finally, place your last one nearer to where your Indexers start. With any luck, you’ll complete the first puzzle and will be able to go onto the next one by walking into the big beam that your Indexers were heading toward.

This should now have changed color from yellow to blue. Puzzle two ups the ante, requiring you to build a little more in order for your Indexer bugs to arrive at their destination safely. To start off, get a bearing on where the green beam is, and follow this along its path.

Remove the Code Block that is preventing the stream from hitting the Relay Block. Store any Code Blocks you come across around the area too, as these can come in handy later on.Next, you’ll see that the green beam is just hitting a wall. All you need to do here is move the Relay Block nearby, and place it in the path of the beam. Rotate it so that the pointed side is now facing the direction that you want the beam to go in, and remove the Code Block in the wall.You’ll now find that the beam is hitting the wall at the end of the corridor.

You’ll find another Relay Block nearby this. Use the Code Blocks you’ve been gathering to build up a stand for the Relay Block and position this in the way of the beam so that it navigates around the corner, and hits the Firewall’s Key Block.Use any remaining Code Blocks you have to fill in a path over to the stream. Place your five turrets near both of the streams and on the open path on the other side of the small corridor. If you’re finding that your turrets aren’t doing the job, don’t be afraid to pick them up and move them around.

Working out the sweet spot can sometimes take a while, but try and place them where you’re noticing that enemies are spawning from. Puzzle three is where this gets really tricky. Start off by taking down the wall in front of you, and use these blocks to build a bridge for your Indexers to get across. With this first wall down, the green beam should disable the first Firewall.You’ll now be faced with another Firewall to either side of you, and no Relay Block to help you remove them. Turn back around so you’re facing the way you came, and to either side of the entrance you walked through should be Code Blocks laid out like stairs. Head up these and on the left, above the Firewall, you’ll find a little enclosure. Jump in here to find a bunch of Code Blocks and the Relay Block you need.

Grab them all and jump back down. Build up a little stack to put your Relay Block on to disable the Firewall on the left.

Another bunch of Code Blocks and a Relay Block wait for you. Pick all of these up again. With that little area cleared out, move your pillar with the Relay Block on the top forward a few squares so that it now lines up with the relay lodged into the back of the wall, thus removing the other Firewall. Place the Code Blocks down to provide a safe way for the Indexers to cross.Oh joy, another Firewall. Head up the single-block staircase so you’re on higher ground.

Just like you have done before, build another stack and place the Relay Block on the top to disable the Firewall. Place more blocks down to build the bridge across for your Indexers to reach the Data Stream.With the main puzzle out the way, proceed to place your turrets at either end of the main corridor, and in the large open area where we previously disabled the two Firewalls. Head through the blue Data Stream to reach Far Harbor’s fourth memory puzzle. Start off here by checking the little enclosure to your right and taking all of the Code Blocks and the Relay Block, you’re gonna need ’em. Use the Code Blocks to create a three-high stack just next to the Data Stream, and attach the Relay Block off the side of the top block of the pillar. Make sure it faces the Firewall and this should disable it.Store all of the Code Blocks in the alcove that has just become available to you, and don’t forget the Relay block, either.

Go back to the first Relay Block you used to disable the Firewall and move it down one block and aim it towards the other Firewall. The problem here is that the Key Block for the Firewall is on the wall to the side. Using your Code Blocks, build a surface just one block above the raised platform that you’re standing on. Attach the Relay Block to the side of this block and point it at the side wall to disable the Firewall.Take back all of your blocks before moving on and building a bridge toward the next Firewall for your Indexers. Next up, make your way down a stairway to the bottom level of this puzzle to find where the beam begins.

Place down two Code Blocks as if you were building out to go toward the green beam. Attach a Decoder Relay onto the top of the second block so that it bounces the beam towards the far end where you came in. Place down one block just where the path starts to break away and attach another Relay Block on top of it to hit the point on the wall. This will then disable the weak point of the remaining Firewall up on the top floor.Finally, collect the Code Blocks you used to build pathways, and build a path with them for your Indexers toward the now open path to the Data Stream. As soon as the enemies start spawning, take note of where they’re coming from and place your turrets near these points and the Data Stream itself.

You’ll want one or two on the long stretch of path that your Indexers will be heading down too. With this out of the way, we’re onto just one more puzzle before we can return to the relative normality of Fallout 4: Far Harbor’s world. This is the final of Far Harbor’s memory puzzles, and the trickiest one. As soon as you load into this memory puzzle, start storing all of the Code Blocks that are in the nearby area and use them to build a bridge to the central point with the huge pyramid. Remove the Code Blocks off each side of the pyramid, off the top, and around the middle. You should be left with a number of holes in the sides of your pyramid and just one Relay Block in the middle. Remove the Relay Block for now and stack two Code Blocks where it used to be. Then place the Relay Block on the top, but in the opposite direction to the way it was facing when you first found it, disabling one Firewall.Use the Code Blocks to build a quick bridge across to this island (the one with four pillars) and proceed to store all of the Code Blocks and the Relay Block in this area.Use these blocks to make your way over to the other island ahead of you and store every Code Block here, too.

When you’ve got everything you can from this island, make your way back across the bridge you built, and dismantle it as you retreat. Now back on the island with the four pillars, build a stack of three Code Blocks and place your Relay on the top so that it meets the beam and projects it over to the island in the distance.

Build a bridge over here, store the Relay Block and place it upon a stack of three blocks so it meets the beam that you’ve fired over from four pillar island.Make your way back over to the pyramid island and build a bridge over to the island at 9 o’clock, if you’re looking at it having come from four pillar island. Just as we have been doing every time we get to a new island, store every Block you can, including the middle one of the plus sign.

The beam should now head straight through and hit a Decoder wall to send the beam up a level.Go back to the pyramid island and straight over to the blue stream we started. Build a bridge to the island at 9 o’clock having come from the pyramid. Pick up the Relay Block and head left, jumping up the stairs to another level.

You should see another flight of stairs, head up these and remove the Code Blocks to on the side of the structure to make your way through.In this small room with the beam, remove all of the Data Blocks you can see on the top level. Make your way down and do the same on the bottom level, too. Place a Relay Block over the opening and direct it back toward the Firewall. This should now allow you to pick up the other Relay Block, as well as the one just above it.

You can get this second one by either building a stack as you stand on top of it, or just by building a bridge across. Go back to the small room and remove the Relay and Code Blocks that you placed down. Leave this room and head down the stairs, up until the last flight down. From here, start building a bridge out toward the stream in the distance. Place a Relay Block sending the beam back across the bridge that you’ve just built.Make your way back and drop down the last flight of stairs.

Note where the beam is coming from and place two Code Blocks down at the very edge of the platform. Place a Relay Block on top of these which should now send the signal straight back over toward the blue stream we started at. Place a couple of blocks down and aim your relay toward the Firewall. If you’ve got it all right, the beam should fire straight at the Key Block and remove your final obstruction. Fill out the path, place turrets around this final point, and with any luck, you’ll have finally overcome this nightmare of a puzzle and can keep playing through Fallout 4.And there you have it, guides to all over the tedious memory puzzles of Fallout 4’s Far Harbor DLC.
