It doesn't feel like it's been long since we officially launched Vortex - our new mod manager - back in July but that was 4 months ago! So from reading the mod author's last notes, it seems that Fallout New Vegas Archive Invalidation Invalidated a) is no longer supported by the creator and no longer works with the latest official patch.

Furthermore, comments in the forum at the nexus site seem to indicate that the built-in invalidation feature in Nexus Mod Manager also doesn't work.
Step 3 in NMC's texture pack states that this step is required:
'3) IMPORTANT: Activate 'archive invalidation invalidated' so the new files show up in game. (Also, if you are overwriting a previously installed, different sized pack, THEN TOGGLE ARCHIVE INVALIDATION INVALIDATED OFF, THEN BACK ON AGAIN or the new textures may not show up)
You can activate this in the Fallout Mod Manager Mod (FOMM)
or by using the Archive Invalidation Invalidated mod:'

I am unable to get FOMM to run at all (crashes immediately upon startup), so it looks like I need the Archive Invalidation Invalidated mod.
Can someone explain how to accomplish this step? Thanks.
I have the latest version of Nexus Mod Manager (.15.8) installed.

Here are the steps. What said is mostly correct, but if you do it his way the mods will not uninstall and files will be left over (uninstalling the game in steam does NOT get rid of all mods).Use Steam Backup to backup your game, It will only take the core files, it will not touch any modded files. (press steam / backup and restore games).Once backed up, Right click on the game and uninstall it in steam, this will get rid of the game (all of the mods will still be there).Go to your fallout folder, which by default is C:program files(x86)steamsteamappscommonFallout New Vegas - Delete the folder 'fallout new vegas' (In your case, wherever you have the game saved).Find where you installed Nexus mod manager (right click on it, go to properties, it will tell you its location) Uninstall the mod manager, if it asks to delete mods, say yes. I'm sorry but this doesn't help, Ive done your way about 3 times and still nothing. I have just totally uninstalled the game, delete all the folders and Nexus, and reinstalled it still crashes my game.

I start a new game, full intro plays gets to the loading screen, after five seconds, crashes. I have reinstalled it after deleting the saves and go into the game and I still have the saves in the game. I have ran the game in low quality to see if that was the problem, nope. I have steam cloud turned off in-case that was the problem. Still I have the old saves and I keep crashing. I don't know what else to do, it just keeps happening, I have fully uninstalled Nexus but I have seen it say that it will keep all mods in tacked so that might be why but I have deleted every mod in Nexus, but that still doesn't explain why my game saves still come back, anyway this is what my process is without Nexus: Uninstall Fallout NV, delete fallout folder in steamapps, delete FalloutNV folder in My Games, reinstall Fallout NV in Steam, do verify Game Cache on Fallout NV, '1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired.' (Happens every time I do Verify Game Cache), launch Fallout NV from Steam, I see that there is a continue button, fill with depression, click New, skip intro, loads for 5 seconds (wheel spins and everything), game crashes, fall into depression, repeat.

Do you have multiple user accounts on your computer? Fsx new zealand scenery. Are you deleting the Documents/ My Games / Fallout NV folder for the correct account? There are almost ZERO situations that those steps will not work unless there is something strange going on (Operating system level, this has nothing to do with steam or new vegas, this is your computer). For your saves to still be there, your documents / my games / Fallout New Vegas folder has to be there, in some way or form, it can't randomly just have your saves once they are deleted. With Fallout 3 there is a possibility for it to save in a different folder (due to games for windows live) but not New Vegas.Reinstall NMM. Look at your load order.Do you see any mods aside from the official releases? If you do, you are not deleting the folders.somehow.Is there any chance you have multiple installations, or something else strange going on?.
