Power Bi Convert Utc To Local Time

I can format, and i can timezone convert, i just cant seem to do woth at the same time without losing the formatting. I found he convert time as an action underneath the 'When and upcoming event is start soon (v2)' and converted from UTC to GMT and specified a time format. Converting UTC to PST. This time zone converter lets you visually and very quickly convert UTC to PST and vice-versa. Simply mouse over the colored hour-tiles and glance at the hours selected by the column. UTC stands for Universal Time. PST is known as Pacific Standard Time. PST is 7 hours behind UTC.

Hi,We may take a try with the method below:Assuming currently we have the Time and UTC column in a table, where Time stores the actual UTC time, UTC stores the changed hour count between client and UTC.Based on the different Time Zone, UTC values changes within -12 to 12 range. When data loaded into Power BI, open Query Editor, under the Add column tab, click Add Custom Column, then under the formula part, copy and paste the following:DateTime.AddZone(Time,0)Click OK. This step adds the default UTC Time Zone (0 here) under the time stored in Time, to the newly created ZoneTime column; After that, we need to create another column to switch the time zone to the client, also click on the Add custom column, then copy and paste the following formula:DateTimeZone.SwitchZone(ZoneTime,UTC)After that, we have successfully added the time Zone information into the time. Then we need format the column into date/time/timezone format.Select ClientTime column, navigate to Transform tab, choose data type and select Date/Time/TimeZone:After that, click close and apply.Till then we should have finished converting the time into Client local time.If any further questions, please feel free to post back.Regards,Charlie Liao. Hello, all! Here's my situation. I have a series of reports that will be consumed by users worldwide. The database is spitting out datetime fields (Start DateTime, End DateTime, etc.) in UTC.For the best user experience possible, I want to convert these dates into local time for users, regardless of their location across the globe. I would love to be able to have an automatic, built-in conversion for UTC-to-local time for users, so their experience is seamless. The plan for mac. Full discloser, the data storage mode in these reports is Direct Query, which can and does change the game for some possible solutions, as you all know. One more thing. Users will be accessing reports via Row Level Security. There may be two possible options:1.

Provide a slicer that allows users to select their time zone2. Provide seamless conversion from UTC to the user's local time.I have not solved for either option and would very much welcome possible solutions for BOTH!Thanks very much!-Barry PowellDigital Insights ConsultantValorem ConsultingKansas City, MO. Original Message:Sent: Jul 13, 2018 11:50 PMFrom: Audrey AbbeySubject: Need Help! Hi BarryI had the same problem and think I've found a solution.I created a query with two columns and one row. One column for UTC (DateTimeZone.UtcNow) and one for LocalTime (DateTimeZone.FixedLocalNow).

I then added a new column using Time.Hour to calculate the difference, and then converted this value to a list. Next, I created a new parameter which referenced this list, then I inserted this parameter into a new column in my direct query table.
